Privacy
Applies to the Cohowork browser extension, the web app at app.cohowork.ai and the desktop app. Last updated 26 September 2026.
What stays on your device
Specialists you install, their settings, what they remember and the history of their runs are kept in your browser's extension storage (or on your computer, for the desktop app). The extension reads and acts on a web page only when you run a specialist or teach one on that page.
What leaves your device, and to whom
- A model, when a specialist asks one. The text it sends goes to the model you chose: a model running on your own computer (such as Ollama), or, if you sign in, our model gateway, which forwards it to our model provider.
- The marketplace. Browsing and installing fetches listings and signed packages from api.cohowork.ai.
- Your account, if you sign in. Your email address and name, the credits you buy and spend, and usage counts needed to bill them.
- A cloud machine, if you buy one. What you put on it — files, specialists, websites you sign in to in its browser — is stored on that machine's disk, which is yours alone and deleted when you delete the machine or your account.
What we do not do
We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or read the pages you visit outside the specialists you run. We do not use your content to train models.
Deleting
Remove the extension to delete everything it stored. To delete your account or a cloud machine and its disk, write to hello@cohowork.ai; you can download everything on a cloud machine first.
